Haley North Dakota is a ghost town in Bowman County

Bowman North Dakota is the county seat of Bowman County, located at the intersection of US Highways 12 and 85. It only has a population of about 1400 but is considered a "large" city for this region (SW N Dakota/NW S Dakota), the entire county has less than 3000 people. I used it as a base to explore the area and tent camped at a Lions Club Park. 

GRIFFIN ND 080225

Griffin North Dakota is a ghost town in Bowman County. It appears completely abandoned. The short road out to it was a 2-track dirt road with really tall weeds growing in between the tracks. Even in a high-clearance vehicle, I could hear the weeds dragging across the underbody as I drove. It used to be a stop on the old Milwaukee railroad and also on the old Yellowstone Highway, one of the nation's first transcontinental highways.

MARMATH ND 080225

 Marmath is a near ghost town in Slope County North Dakota that used to have a much larger population and was a favorite place of Teddy Roosevelt.
